Justin.tv is hiring a Community Manager!

After getting all your valuable feedback, we're starting our search for a Community Manager. If you know someone who lives in the SF area and would be a good fit, pass this along:

Justin.tv is the biggest Flash live video site online. We provide free live video and chat channels to anyone who wants to easily broadcast something to the web. We serve hundreds of thousands of video streams a day, and get millions of visitors a month. The site is rapidly growing, and in order to meet the needs of our growing community, we're looking to hire our first Community Manager.

As our Community Manager you will be responsible for user support, community events, and making sure that Justin.tv is a fun experience for all members of the community. You will define priorities and figure out better ways to communicate with and engage the community. Success will require strong communication and task management skills, creativity, responsibility, follow up, and a good understanding of users' motivations online. Interacting with a community online and working with new and interesting broadcasters and viewers should be fun!

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the Community
- Organize and manage community admins
- Become a well known figure in the Justin.tv community
- Always be available to help users, answer questions, and address user concerns
- Be aware of happenings within our community, promoting user events and moderating disputes
- Keep track of and distribute Justin.tv broadcasting hardware
- Police content where necessary; respond to content takedown notices

Inform the Community
- Keep the community updated on site changes, outages, events etc...
- Host weekly live "Justin.tv office hours", where you will be on camera helping members of the community
- Answer all customer service emails quickly and thoughtfully and gather condensed feedback from the issues presented
- Regularly search for blog and forum posts about us and other live sites. Politely correct misconceptions and encourage people to give us a try.
- Creating both text and video for the Guides, Tutorials, and Help sections for the site

Creatively Engage the Community
- Regularly look at directory/new and spend a few minutes chatting with each new broadcaster to welcome them to the site
- Be passionate about thinking of new ways to engage the community
- Plan and host community events and contests

Showcase Content
- Keep the Justin.tv homepage updated throughout the day with fresh content
- Highlight top Justin.tv content on our blog
- Organize our regular broadcasts, including HackerTV

Work with the Developers
- Present user feedback in condensed, weekly reports during team meetings
- Work with the development team to create tools to make community management (your job!) easier
- Always have a general understanding of current development plan and outstanding bugs and bug fixes

Requirements:
- Strong familiarity with online consumer facing websites (You should know how to use Youtube, Flickr, Myspace, Facebook, etc; active engagements in online communities is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and manage others
- Outgoing personality; comfortable enough to be in front of a camera occasionally
- Exceptional work ethic, independent, and the ability to learn quickly
- Desire to work in a fast paced environment where job requirements sometimes change
- Ability to build out and lead the community management team at Justin.tv
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Located in the SF Bay Area

Justin.tv is still a small company (<10 people), and we are looking for someone who will be a core member of a fun, fast paced team. We believe in building awesome products that normal people like to use, and need you to help us do it! We're located in the SOMA district of San Francisco, one block from the Caltrain station. We have an NBA Jam machine, Xbox 360, 100" projector, all the free energy drink you desire, and catered lunches.

To apply, please email justin[at]justin.tv with your resume and a cover letter with some thoughts on how you would actively make Justin.tv better. Justin.tv is an equal opportunity employer.

Wow. Aside from the lack of technical requirements (I'm Microsoft, Apple and Cisco certified) this is a dream job for me.

Resume is coming to you shortly. Just so happens that I sent my resume to Michael today for completely different reasons. Ha!
