We've gotten a scrubbing on site and you're going to notice some changes, improvements and all around good things.
Beta Channel Design: You can choose to opt in to have your channel always display in the new beta format, simply go to your Channel Info Settings to do this. You should do this to give it a shot!

- Note: Your channel will otherwise display in the old style for now.
Live broadcasting in one click: We've made it even easier to broadcast, you can now get yourself set up with a channel and broadcasting easier than before!
Directory Improvements: We've made some tweaks to the directory to improve it's look and feel.- Producer's Spotlight is now video
- Mouse hovers over live thumbnails brings up Channel Icon, Category info and channel description.
- Cleaner look and feel
Front Page changes: The front page got some cleaning up too!- Highlighted upcoming broadcasts

If it works right, I think the updated IM client could be the biggest improvement. Good stuff overall though!

directory looks horrible.. the new BOTTOM BAR HORRIBLE..u cant see the yellow bar now..this NEW CHANGE is horrible.. it should BE AN OPTION
well yeah i was comming back to ask about that also i DONT WANNA HEAR THEM and i dont wanna have to hit HIDE each time.. going to the directory and having to hear someones channel THEN AN ADVERT plays..lol no BAD BAD BAD
directory looks horrible for too big and the channel info fade needs to be a lot smoother the chat client is a good thing but what does that help me broadcast rather than concentrate in being a video site and less of a yahoo chat site base get some video tools sorted eg app to mobile broadcast on an iphone it cant be that hard less concentration on design and small improvements which to be honest dont really help this site as your original motto is

Complaints
1)The Meebo IM Client - I do not im or msesage friends at all,nor do I even have any so this is useless for me
2)Channel Directory is hard to access and poorly organized.Having to click 3 buttons to get to a sub directoy is unacceptable. Also, the advertised producer should atleast be in the same catagory as the channels you are looking at.
3)The New Chat have to click buttons to even pm someone.Also the multiple line thing looks awkward and harder to follow.
4)The homepage looks jumbled and hard to navigate to find anything.
This is just off the top of my head, already closed my justin tv account due to unhappiness because of all the changes that are for the worst.Might give a glance in a few weeks to see if anything is improved but until then these changes have lost atleast 1 member.

I can't seem to scroll thru my friends list with the new IM system. It pops up, but I can't scroll down? In fact, I can't click anything inside the Meebo box when it is open.
No more producer highlights on the front page? I felt that was actually something you all were doing right...
The beta channels chat needs to get those lines removed from in between each post, seriously. Channels that are actually popular, those lines just make it impossible to keep up.
Oh, yikes.... I just realized that on the IM friends list it isn't using our screennames. Some peopel put crazy things as their name, can you guys make it use either our screenname or BOTH our screenname and our name we enter into profile?
Now justin.tv doesn't work AT ALL on my 4 browsers, can't access ANY channel, it keeps saying "Sorry Justin.tv isn't working for you!"
Please, keep it simple and compatible!!!!
The front page is not working properly. The social page is not returning any channel (as well as the other pages). I hope you are going to fix these issues or you are going lose viewers to cam4 :)))

YEAH OK I LEFT IT ALONE UNCHECK AND EVEN CLICKED SAVE..but then i go to my channel..NEW FORMAT.. so then i go ahead and click it /save BACK TO MY CHANNEL same NEW format.. ?? wth..
i now have video but no audio. i am not happy.
I'm going to be 100% honest with you, JTV staff: I hate this. The updates are horrible. The new nav bar up top, sucks. It takes a second before the stupid mouseover field registeres that your damn mouse is over it, then when the menus pop up it hides the ads on the page, that's just annoying. Also, in the live channels dropdown, is there any reason you need a search bar there? There's one RIGHT NEXT to the live channels mouseover! You don't need 2!
Also, I hate the fact that you no longer display the total number of viewers at the top of the page, there's no reason that should have been removed.
I'm starting a petition for all that oppose these new changes to JTV (which can hardly be called "updates" since they suck). If you hate the changes, and want to try to make a difference, let me know on my profile and I'll contact you when the petition is done. Maybe, with enough voices, we can get JTV back to how it was, back when it actually worked!
Why?
I dont really understand why you guys make these changes when more then half of all users hate them. Its is starting to look more and more like Myspace/Facebook.
The Channel Beta pages look horrible, it is impossible to see both the chat and the user list, which is extremely inconvenient.
I understand you are trying to make JTV look and feel better, but you are making it harder and harder for the average user to get around. I do commend you on the front page, that is greatly improved, especially with the one click broadcast.
Keep in mind that what changes may look good to you guys, may turn out to be bad and inefficient to other users.
i tried to click on the front page that says,

and it CRASHED my browser and flash plugins.
this is just bad. this is what happened to me when i was on ustream and they cant find the solution that why i came to justin.
Surprisingly I like some of the new changes. It's very simple and I love the new big channel thumbnails.
There are some things that needs to be worked out though:
- Start all spotlight feeds muted. No one likes to suddenly be disrupted by sound.
- Make the channel TITLE more visible in the live channels lists. This has been a problem since JTV abandoned the channel icons.
- Removing the featured on front page feature was pretty sad.
- Faster fade in on channel info hover.

To be honnest..... it sucks bigtime the new stuff, I can not close the video onn the index, the page is very slow ands take forever to load and no I don't have an slow connection, worst is all the extra new stuff only make the page less stabel and that while Justin finaly was rock solid. I hope that for an change not only Tia listen to the gamers and will conclude that people not like this a bit...

is there like a permanent hide button for the producer spotlight thing? it gets annoying everytime i have to turn it off.
For GOD'S sake, MUTE the producer spotlight. It's extremely annoying! If I want to hear it,then I'll click on it.
These new changes are dreadful. JTV looks awful now. Change it back!
I like the directory changes, however the audio on the spotlight can be awkward. How about have audio on spotlight off by default?
As for the cam/chat page, I hate it. I don't understand the force to wide screen and making the chat box so small. The major reason people come back day after day is friendships and chat. The cam brought us here and friendships bring us back. I think the hit on chat will be unacceptable to a lot of viewers.
I say make it a choice. Use the new layout for default settings but allow us to preference old settings.
Awful
Yet another example of style over substance. The pop up menus are annoying and are slower to navigate than the old style menus. The producer account playing on every page is extremely irritating and intrusive.
The beta chat page layout is dreadful, its all over the place with no sense or logic. Have you guys never heard of customer testing (and that doesn't mean showing it to your mates).
The changes are all seem down to developers wanting to play with flash coding. Functionality and ease of use are obviously second to looking pretty.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, but you won't change it back coz this site is driven by the dollar now.
