Tomorrow, they plan on doing an exclusive pre-release demo of their newest title Red Faction Guerrilla, which officially launches on June 2nd (many have downloaded and played the Multiplayer Demo which released May 21st).

You can check out their broadcast tomorrow, May 29th at 10AM CST on their channel, only on Justin.tv - http://www.justin.tv/volition

New Twitter, Facebook and MySpace features!

We've been working hard on improving the 3rd party chat on Justin.tv, and we're happy to release the following improvements:

  • Broadcasters can now default their channel to load Twitter, MySpace or Facebook chat. The normal JTV site chat will still exist, just in another tab.
  • All the external chat rooms (MySpace, Twitter and Facebook chats) are now based on the same chat servers as regular chat, meaning that messages will appear without any delay (real time!).
  • Broadcasters who sign in to Twitter will automatically have their channel status updates pushed to their Twitter.
  • Search now has a Recent Tweets side bar, that searches recent Twitter updates from around Justin.tv
  • Added a character count for Twitter posts; enjoy Twittering!
Hope you like these improvements. As always, we appreciate any feedback you have on them.

Justin.tv just won a Webware 100 award, so we're all going to Disney Land

Okay, only one part of the title is true. Thankfully, it's the part we're the most excited about.

CNET's Webware blog just announced the 2009 Webware 100 winners and we're thrilled to tell you that Justin.tv made the cut!

While we've done a lot of hard work here at Justin.tv World Headquarters to make the site something everybody loves, we know that when voting is in the public's hands, our users are the ones that make or break us. In the Photo & Video category we were up against great products like Flickr, Boxee, Vimeo and 26 others, and we couldn't be more humbled to find out that so many of our users and fans made their way over to vote--and they chose us!

Thanks to everyone who voted from everyone at Justin.tv!

Community resources just got Wikified!

Good news everybody!

I'm really glad to announce that I've gone through and wikified all of our current site guides, information and et cetera. I've even thrown in a couple of Easter Eggs for good measure.

http://community.justin.tv/

Check it out, and if you're the expert of what you do or know something about Justin.tv and feel that it'd make a great wiki article, by all means make an addition! Check out the way the pages are laid out already, I have already put things in [[Category:Site Info]] or [[Category:Tutorial]] for some help.

Enjoy!

Thumbnails on Justin.tv are doing it live, just like Bill O'Reilly

We know you come to Justin.tv to watch live video from all over the Web, and it's our job to help you find it. Until now, we've been showing you static profile images in the thumbnails for users' channels. Unfortunately, these weren't always a good indication of what was streaming at the time. No more!

Starting today, you'll see constantly-updated screen grabs from each channel in its thumbnail, so you'll know exactly what's on, exactly when you care--right now! The team worked hard over the weekend to get this new feature ready and we just pushed it live.

Go check out the home page, your favorite directory section or a search for whatever strikes your fancy. We think these new thumbnails make the site much easier to use, let us know if you agree.

Here's an example of what our gaming page looks like with the new screen grabs:
