Yarrrrrr, Live Sneak Peak from LucasArts today!

Great News Sea dogs an' land lubbers!

LucasArts will be showing a sneak peak broadcast of Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. They will be doing some game play as well as hearing from the folks at LucasArts about the game!

The broadcast will be at 3pm PST here: http://www.justin.tv/lucasartsgames - Don't forget to check it out!

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
is coming to the Xbox 360 and PC in summer 2009. See a collection of screenshots and video samples from The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition here.

About The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition:
"Back by popular demand, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game (originally released in 1990) for original and new audiences alike. The development team at LucasArts is bringing the game into the modern era with all-new HD graphics, a re-mastered musical score, full voiceover, and an in-depth hint system has been added to help players through the game’s side-splitting puzzles. Purists will also delight in the ability to seamlessly switch between the updated HD graphics and the original’s classic look.

The game's twisty plot leads hero, Guybrush Threepwood, on a hilarious quest throughout the fabled Monkey Island. Tales of pirate wealth attract Guybrush, who lands at the port of Mêlée with high hopes, no money and an insatiable desire to become a pirate. If the player is clever enough, Guybrush will win the confidence of Mêlée's established pirates and soon find himself blown by the winds of fate toward Monkey Island -- a storied isle whose name alone chills the bones of even the most bloodthirsty buccaneers."

Justin.tv, now with infinitely more DVR

Thanks to the brilliant work of Bill here at Justin.tv World Headquarters, today we're releasing a new feature that we're calling the Justin.tv DVR.

Any time you're watching a live broadcast there will be bar under the video that says "Continue watching this later." Clicking that will give you a url that looks something like this: http://justin.tv/officecam#from-15:09,june-12-2009 -- that's us at work last Friday.

It's pretty straightforward. You can resume any broadcast at a later time, just like pressing the record button on a DVR remote. We've offered archived video for a long time, but due to the nature of live content there often ends up being tons of material there that is tough to navigate when you know exactly what you're looking for. We think this makes it a lot easier for to find what you're looking for and also much easier to share that with others.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Justin.tv API Beta

Here at the JTV Research Institute we've been secretly developing an API that will allow any developer or website the power to build applications on top of Justin.tv and add live video to external sites. We're looking for pre-release beta developers now! If you're interested, please fill out the below form.
