Introducing Pro Accounts

We’ve heard a great deal of feedback from you the Community about the desire to have a “Pro Account” option and we’re bringing it to you. Also many of you had told us that you’d love to be able to have a Pro Account option in order to make it so you don’t have to view ads on video.

Now you can register for a Pro Account on Justin.tv and view the video ad free. Check out the complete list of features:

  • Advertising-free viewing of all video on Justin.tv!
  • Five free gifts every month.
  • Access to custom Pro chat colors.
  • A special icon for your name in chat.
  • Custom badges for your profile and channel pages, showing everyone that you’re a Pro!

Remember, Pro Accounts are completely optional! Every way that you’ve currently enjoyed using Justin.tv will remain the same if you haven’t opted to buy a Pro Account.

As I do like the idea of pro accounts, I don’t like the cost for what I’m getting. When I saw Justin, I asked him, “Can you please have a premium account option that would allow the users paying to be able to broadcast on a dedicated and separate server so that the people paying don’t get lag?” If this was the case, I would pay the $120 a year. Also, this option gets rid of ads for you when it should get rid of ads for viewers watching your stream. It would be great if that happened. It’s just a few ideas but I really am still hoping for dedicated servers.

Not too sure what the big deal is… you can still do 99.9% of the other stuff on JTV without a Pro account. It’s a premium thing, and completely optional.

When you go to the park, you can drink from the water fountain for free (which is perfectly safe for your body, at least in NYC), or you can go buy some bottled water. The biggest difference between those two products is image and marketing.

If you don’t think pro accounts are a value to you, don’t get it and perhaps kindly share what might be worth your hard earned money. Chingy1337 articulated his thoughts quite well (although I think JTV’s servers seem to handle high loads very well these days).

Does it occur to anyone complaining about 10 bucks a month that the decision to give users an “option” to upgrade to a pro account may have been made under the heavy constraints of financial limitations? For crying out loud, it’s 10 dollars a month … Most of you guys spend a lot more money in a single day on useless crap. This site provides all sorts of entertainment to millions of people across the globe at absolutely no cost whatsoever; if 10 bucks a month is what it takes to symbolize my support for this site, then I am all for it. Go Justin.tv!

For 10$ a month I expected ALL JTV adds to disappear. This is not the case. Page adds are still intact, just not the video adds. For 10$ a month you can do much better.

I know you guys need to make money, but I agree $10 a month is way to much… $5 a month might be a better price or even $2.50…

The less you charge the more potential takers you probably would have…

TheSabin $10 a month is nothing. $10 in UK pounds is around £6.50 a month. I was on a pro account on mediafire for quite a while for the same price that JTV are currently charging. But since people are more than willing to download my stuff i was sharing and using up all my payed for bandwidth allowance and not chipping in on my chipin app on my channel, made me pull the plug. Might as well subscribe to something that benefits more to myself than to others. Pro is a godsend on J.TV if you read the pro FAQ’s before making your comments against it, You would aggree with the pro option and the price of it yourself.
